Monster Project

1) The most difficult part of this project was getting my hair to look longer. This was really hard because I had to use a really small brush and zoom in a lot and go through every little strand to make sure that no different part of the blue on my sweatshirt showed.

2) I could use improvement in my color contrast skills. At the beginning of this project I had a really hard time getting colors to match up, but towards the end I learned how to be much better at it.

3) My favorite part of my Monster Project 1 is my eyes. I made my transformation very subtle and blended the eyes so well that it looked very natural, and although I transformed my lips and hair also, blending the eyes made my picture look very strange and at the same time very natural. So my picture definitely makes you look twice.
4) My greatest accomplishment on this project was the way that I learned so much more about the tools on photoshop. I was very resourceful with all that the program gives me and learned how to use many different things. I used blending techniques such as Curves and Color Balance which made certain spots of my image dark while others were light and that allowed me to have a twisting and bending of space look.

1) In my work of art I was trying to communicate from underwater. In my picture I made my lips and eyes different which still made the image look like "myself'", but at the same time making myself look curious and sort of strange which made me able to communicate a sense of out of world, under water secrets.

2) My biggest struggle in Stage 2 of my Monster Project was finding a picture of a mermaid outfit. I wanted to find the shell top that is like the one in Little Mermaid, and I had the hardest time finding a picture that was like that. After I finally found one, I needed to get it on my body perfectly which required a lot of rotating and shifting around.

3) My biggest accomplishment was finally making my face the same color as the body of the picture I was using. Since I have dark skin and the mermaid in the picture was white, I decided to change the color of both our skin to blue, which also gave it more of an underwater vibe.

4) The final grade I'd give myself for this project would definitely be an A. I would give myself an A because I used more different techniques and tools in this project that in any of my other projects that I got an A on. I went outside of my comfort zone of just blending and smoothing and went on to use filters, color changes, different brushes and different texture techniques. I think I worked very hard on doing everything possible to make this picture look good and deliver the strange underwater world message, and I think it definitely deserve an A.
